A Little Vent....Sorry!

So lately, of course, we have had the new news of Jed joining the army when we see old friends or people we have known or whatever. It seems that a common answer to that for some people is "I'm sorry" or something to that effect. Why would someone say that? He CHOSE to join the army, it's not like he was drafted. Plus, if it weren't for people being willing to serve in the military we would not enjoy the freedoms that we do in this nation. Maybe I am just close to the situation and having grown up in a military family (dad-army, grandpa-air force, aunt-air force, uncle-air force and navy) I have an innate respect and gratitude for our armed forces. I understand everyone's right to their opinion, but when it comes to stuff like that I just don't think I'm sorry is an appropriate response. Am I way off base here? Thanks for letting me vent!

Hey! Just wanted to let you know I tagged you! The directions are posted on my blog. Good luck with the Army thing. I admire you guys for devoting yourselves to a worthy cause. I don't think I could let my husband do it.

Army life is hard, but I totally understand. If it weren't for all those people who fought & died through history, we wouldn't have anything that we have today. I support the Army & other government branches. I say props to Jed for making such a decision. I know it couldn't have been very easy. We support Jed & you through everything. Jay said you're moving back here...that's awesome. You'll have some support while Jed is gone during training. Can't wait to see you again.

You're not way off. I think it's awesome! I'm sure it will be hard, but it is definately a worthy cause! A big thank you to people like Jed who volunteer to defend our country and the freedoms we enjoy.

I found your blog through Jim's. Looks like you are doing well.

It reminds me of pregnancy comments where you just don't know what to say! I think the only thing I'm sorry about is the amount of time you will have to spend apart next year ... but other than that - I think it'll be an exciting opportunity!
